Vicksburg, Miss. âThe Vicksburg Warren School District Board of Trustees highlighted student success with Career Technical Education summer camps in its June meeting, showcasing career enrichment programs preparing students for the upcoming school year while also giving special recognition to the Vicksburg High School Class of 1976 as it celebrated its 50th reunion.
A Celebration of 50 Years
Board of Trustees President Jim Stirgis, Jr. recognized the Vicksburg High School Class of 1976 as alumni, recognizing five decades of memories, milestones, and achievements, and their lifelong connection to the Vicksburg Warren School District.

VWSD Building it Better Initiative
Over the course of June, 81 students, ranging from elementary to high school, had the opportunity to participate in the Vicksburg Warren Career Technical Education Center Summer program, Building it Better. CTE Coordinators Kimberly Vaughn and Kayla Kevitt conducted a total of three camps (computer science, biomedical science, and manufacturing) supporting the district's Project-Based Learning approach, numerous career options, and educational routes that are available to all students across the district. Kevitt then thanked VWSD for their âConstant commitment and investment in the future of the VWSD Students.â

The June Board of Trustees meeting reflected on Vicksburg Warren School District's commitment to celebrating milestones while providing students with the opportunity to learn, grow, and succeed through the educational initiatives and programs offered across the district.
