The Vicksburg Warren School District proudly celebrates Cadet Keiandre Wilson, a senior at Vicksburg High School and Cadet Captain in the Vicksburg High School Army JROTC program, for earning a highly competitive national scholarship from the National Veteran Business Development Council. Cadet Wilson, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Kyle and Mary Wilson, was selected as Mississippi’s sole recipient of the NVBDC JROTC Scholarship, an honor awarded to only one cadet per state. His scholarship was earned through an outstanding essay submission chosen from among numerous well-written entries nationwide.
Wilson plans to attend Mississippi State University in the fall of 2026, where he will major in political science. His achievement reflects not only academic excellence, but also the leadership, discipline, and civic responsibility that define the mission of JROTC. The scholarship is part of NVBDC’s State Manager Appreciation Program, honoring 250 years of America by investing in the next 250. As the nation approaches its 250th birthday, NVBDC is awarding 50 scholarships to exceptional JROTC cadets across the country who exemplify leadership, character, and service. NVBDC’s guiding belief is clear: investing today in the leaders of tomorrow. Through its scholarship program, NVBDC supports cadets who demonstrate the values known as the 4 C’s of Leadership: Country, Courage, Community, and Commitment. These principles prepare young men and women to lead with integrity, serve with purpose, and make a lasting impact on their communities.
Within Vicksburg High School’s Army JROTC program, Cadet Wilson has developed leadership skills through structured leadership labs, physical training, academic enrichment, and meaningful community service. As Cadet Captain, he models discipline, resilience, and service-driven leadership for fellow cadets. The Vicksburg Warren School District commends Cadet Wilson for this exceptional accomplishment and extends appreciation to the dedicated JROTC instructors and administrators who help cultivate leadership development across our schools. Cadet Wilson’s selection is not only a personal achievement but a reflection of the strength of the Vicksburg High School Army JROTC program and its commitment to preparing students for college, careers, military service, and active citizenship. Congratulations to Cadet Keiandre Wilson for representing Vicksburg High School and the state of Mississippi with excellence.
