Vicksburg Warren School District to Implement Security Checkpoints at Basketball Games

VICKSBURG, MS — The Vicksburg Warren School District (VWSD) announces that enhanced security measures will be in place at all district basketball games for the upcoming season. These measures are part of the district’s continued commitment to maintaining a safe and secure environment for students, staff, and spectators.

Beginning this basketball season, all attendees will be required to pass through security checkpoints before entry. These checkpoints will include the use of metal detectors and/or handheld security wands. Bags are also subject to search upon entry.

“Our top priority is the safety of everyone who attends our athletic events,” said James Lewis, Director of Athletics and Activities for the Vicksburg Warren School District. “Implementing these checkpoints allows us to continue providing a positive and secure game day experience for our students, families, and community members.”

VWSD reminds guests that the district’s clear bag policy will remain in effect for all basketball games. Only clear bags and small clutches that meet the established guidelines will be permitted inside venues.

The district encourages all attendees to arrive early to allow time for the screening process and to cooperate with security personnel to ensure a smooth entry for everyone. VWSD appreciates the community’s understanding and support as it continues to strengthen safety measures across all campuses and athletic venues.
