Students

The countdown is officially on — the first week of school is right around the corner, and the energy across Vicksburg Warren School District is electric! From fresh supplies to polished hallways, our schools are prepared to welcome students back for an incredible 2025–2026 school year.

But as we sharpen pencils and set goals, there’s one thing we’re especially focused on: attendance.

Every Day Counts
Did you know students who attend school regularly are more likely to achieve academic success, build strong relationships, and develop lifelong habits of responsibility? Whether it’s the first day or the 100th, being present matters.

Showing Up = Starting Strong
The first few weeks set the tone for the entire year. That’s why VWSD encourages families to establish strong routines now — from early bedtimes to organized mornings — so students walk in ready to learn and grow from day one.

A Message to Our Families:
Your partnership makes all the difference. When you help your child show up ready and on time, you're setting them up for confidence, consistency, and a successful year ahead.

The district is encouraging families to establish consistent routines early. That includes setting bedtime schedules, preparing school supplies in advance, and discussing the importance of showing up on time, every day.

VWSD's first official day of school is Friday, Aug. 1. For the most up-to-date school supply lists, transportation details, and campus-specific information, families are kindly requested to visit their child’s school directly. Additionally, they are encouraged to stay connected with our district’s social media pages.
