Vicksburg, MS – The Vicksburg Warren School District’s food service team recently turned up the energy and enthusiasm at its ServSafe Boot Camp, a high-impact, fun-filled prep session designed to build confidence and ease test-day nerves ahead of the national ServSafe certification exam.

Held in a supportive and spirited atmosphere, the boot camp transformed traditional test preparation into an engaging experience. From uplifting motivational wall messages to a lively round of “Who Wants to Be a ServSafe Star?” — a creative twist on the popular game show “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?” — participants stayed energized, informed, and inspired throughout the session.

“This was more than just a study session,” said Keba Laird, VWSD Child Nutrition Director. “It was a celebration of the hard work, dedication, and professionalism our food service team brings to our schools every day.”

The boot camp aimed not only to review ServSafe content but also to foster team spirit and test-taking confidence, ensuring staff members felt fully prepared for their certification exams.

Our goal with the ServSafe Boot Camp was to equip our team with more than just knowledge — we wanted them to feel empowered and supported,” said Keba Laird, VWSD Child Nutrition Director. “They play such a vital role in the daily success of our schools, and this workshop was a fun way to reinforce their skills while reminding them how valuable they truly are.”

As the team awaits their results, VWSD is proud of the commitment these individuals have shown to safety, service, and student well-being. The district wishes them the very best — and reminds them: You’ve got this!
