Vicksburg Warren School District is proud to announce that Cyndee Nash, BSN, RN, NCSN was inducted into the Mississippi School Nurse Hall of Fame at the Mississippi School Nurse Association annual conference in Tupelo on Wednesday, June 5, 2024.This esteemed recognition honors Nash's exceptional contributions to student health and well-being, as well as her unwavering commitment to the school community."She was always a lot of fun! Cyndee worked as a school nurse and lead nurse for the VWSD from 1988 until her retirement in 2021. Giving over 32 years of service to the staff and students in our district. Cyndee wrote several successful grant proposals to secure funding for more nurses over the course of her career. Throughout her career, Nurse Nash was an active member of both the West Mississippi School Nurse Association and the Mississippi School Nurse Association serving in various leadership roles for over 15 years. Cyndee was one of the first two school nurses in MS to become a Nationally Certified School Nurse. She received various awards including: MS School Nurse of the year, Special Olympics Volunteer of the year, and Best Nurse In Vicksburg. In retirement Cyndee enjoys volunteering as a hostess for the Miss Mississippi Organization, helping organize toy drives for the Children Hospital at UMMC as a memorial to her precious granddaughter Bexlee Kaye, helping with her son’s ministry SWAG: Saved with Amazing Grace Celebrate Recovery. She most enjoys her retirement title of Granny!
