Mission Statement

The mission of the Office of Federal Programs is to provide support to the Vicksburg Warren School District (VWSD) in improving the academic success of students and in enhancing the professional growth of the staff.

General Information

The Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) provides funding to state educational agencies to meet the academic needs of eligible students residing within the state. The Mississippi Department of Education is the recipient of most ESEA funds allocated to the State. The VWSD is a sub-recipient of grants funded through ESEA--Title I, Title II, Title IV, and Title V. These funds are managed through the Office of Federal Programs.

The Office of Federal Programs primary responsibilities are to:

  • serve as a liaison between the district and the Mississippi Department of Education

  • assist the district and schools with interpreting and carrying forth provisions of federal regulations,

  • monitor procedures utilized in conducting annual needs assessments and planning and implementing programs designed for school improvement,

  • provide assistance in developing and implementing the school’s federal programs

  • provide guidance in the fiscal management of all ESEA funds

About VWSD

ESEA REPORT CARDS

The Elementary and Secondary Education Act (amended 2015) (ESEA) Section 1111(h)(2)(B)(ii); 34 C.F.R. § 200.31(d)(2)) requires each local education agency that receives Title I funding to produce annual report cards and disseminate them to parents and community stakeholders.

The Mississippi Succeeds Report Card has been developed in response to ESEA requirements. Detailed report cards are available as an interactive online tool that provides specific information about the professional qualifications of teachers, students' assessment results, achievement data for specific subgroups, student absenteeism, discipline, advanced coursework, college/university enrollment, and student participation rates on statewide assessments.

Provided below are links to the Vicksburg Warren School District and each of its school’s 2018-2019 summary report card.

For more detailed information and previous report cards, you may access the interactive online tool for the  Mississippi Succeeds Report Card by clicking here or selecting the link embedded at the top of each report that can be accessed below.
