Five of our outstanding VWSD teachers are now recipients of the Black Educators Initiative Scholarship, made possible through our partnership with William Carey University and funded by the National Center for Teacher Residencies. This scholarship covers tuition, university fees, testing materials, e-texts, and more.
The recipients are:
- Precious Ivy, Sherman Avenue Elementary
- Jennifer London, Warrenton Elementary
- Alicia Wright, Warrenton Elementary
- Arianna Hill, Dana Road Elementary (not pictured)
- Essence Evans, Dana Road Elementary
All five teachers will graduate in May 2024 with a Master's degree in Elementary Education.
