VICKSBURG, Miss. β The Vicksburg Warren School District (VWSD) officially welcomed back its educators and staff during the annual Convocation, held Thursday morning at the Vicksburg Convention Center. With all 17 schools represented, the event served as a vibrant kickoff to the 2025β2026 academic year, themed around a powerful and timely message: HOPE.
Superintendent Dr. Tori Holloway delivered an energizing address to the packed auditorium, emphasizing the districtβs continued commitment to student growth, unity, and educational excellence. βThis year, we are centering our focus on HOPEβhope for stronger student outcomes, greater community engagement, and the continued success of our schools,β Dr. Holloway said.
The convocation began at 10:30 a.m., featured spirited performances from student groups, uplifting remarks from district leaders, and a shared sense of purpose as the VWSD team prepares to open its doors for students on Friday, August 1.
Staff and faculty from across the district filled the room with energy and anticipation for the school year ahead. The event not only celebrated the dedication of VWSD employees but also reinforced a shared vision: to grow together as one community, one district.
As students return to campus, VWSD remains focused on building a culture where every child is supported, challenged, and empowered to succeed!
