approximately 20 high school students stand outside a brick building that houses ERDC's Forward Center. They are posing with large robots they have built.

The partnership between the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Engineer Research and Development Center and the school district was recognized with a Governor's Partnership Award by the Mississippi Association of Partners in Education (MAPE) on March 7.

The Corps STEM outreach program is reaching thousands of students across all grade levels each year through summer camps, tours, internships, teacher training, and more. This important work has helped to increase curriculum relevance and positively impacted graduation rates and test scores. This project has inspired typically under-served students to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering, and math and changed the trajectory of their lives and the community for the better.
