This competitive experience challenged students to apply real-world skills in business planning, marketing, and professional presentations while showcasing their creativity and entrepreneurial mindset. Their hard work paid off as Janiegha Thomas of Vicksburg High School earned 2nd Place and received a $2,500 scholarship, while Ariana Davis of River City Early College earned 3rd Place and received a $1,000 scholarship.
These accomplishments reflect VWSD’s ongoing commitment to preparing students for success at the college, career, and entrepreneurial levels. We are proud of all five students for representing our district with excellence, confidence, and determination.

The P.A.T.H. Parent Night is an informational event designed to educate students and their families about the Pathways to Advancement Through Hinds (P.A.T.H.) initiative and what participation entails. During the session, parents and students will receive an overview of program expectations, eligibility requirements, the application and selection process, and the structure of dual enrollment coursework offered in partnership with Hinds Community College.
Attendees will also be introduced to the available career pathways, including Welding, Carpentry, Precision Machining, Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC), Automotive, Plumbing, Electrical, and Mechatronics Technology. Additional information will be provided on scheduling options, transportation considerations, and the academic rigor associated with college-level instruction. The event will also highlight the long-term benefits of participation, including earning college credit, gaining industry exposure, and preparing for high-demand careers within Warren County, Mississippi, while allowing families to engage with program staff, ask questions, and receive guidance on next steps.

Parents and guardians, it’s time to prepare for the upcoming school year. Online registration for the 2026–2027 school year in the Vicksburg Warren School District will be open April 13–17, 2026 and is required for all new and returning students.

Our VWSD librarians do far more than manage books—they inspire a love for reading, guide students in discovering new ideas, support teachers in the classroom, and create welcoming spaces where learning comes to life.
Thank you to each of our dedicated librarians for helping shape the future of our students—one page, one lesson, and one discovery at a time. Your impact reaches far beyond the library walls.
