Elementary students holding signs on stage

Bowmar Avenue Elementary School held their first “Leader In Me” Assembly to end the first week of school. During the event, sixth graders reviewed the Seven Habits that the Vicksburg Warren School District has adopted. The lighthouse school plans to have a ”Leader In Me” assembly on the first Friday of every month. The program Leader in Me is a whole-school improvement process based on the idea that everyone can be a leader. With that, the schools’ leaders will allow each grade level to choose a habit to plan, create, and perform some type of skit or program.

The school become a Leader In Me School in 2012 and just three years later made history by becoming the first Leader In Me Lighthouse school in Mississippi in 2015.
