• Good morning Vikings!  Here are this week's announcements:

    Auditions for the fall play will be Monday, August 19 OR Tuesday, August 20 from 4:30- 5:30 in the Auditorium.  You don’t need to prepare anything in advance, just show up. Please sign up outside the drama room (101A) and see Ms. Fairchild for more details.  

    ATTENTION NHS MEMBERS: The first  National Honor Society meeting this year will be Wednesday, August 21.  See Mrs. Hodnett in room 400 for more info.

    Attention Warren Central Vikings!  If you would like to earn service hours and participate in an exciting club this year, please sign up for WC Literary Club. The sign up sheet will be posted next to room 307 or see Mrs. Bell in room 307.

    Attention all WC orators: If you would like to showcase your speaking talents and possibly get a chance to win up to $20,000, please sign up for the

    Poetry Out Loud competition that will take place in December. Signup will be posted next to room 307 or see Mrs. Bell in room 307.

    Alcorn State University High School day will be Saturday, September 21, 2019 vs Prairie View A&M. Forms can be picked up from Mr. Mayfield in Room 206 or from Ms. Marbley in 601A.  Forms and Fees will be collected on Wednesday, September 4 during lunch. 

    Chick-Fil-A Leadership Academy is a program dedicated through impact through leadership.  Want to make a change? Have some great ideas for our campus and/ or community? Stop by room 202 and find out how to apply for a spot in WC's 2020 CFA Leadership Academy and be the change!

  • CHROMEBOOK RETURNS FOR 2019 SUMMER

    All students must return their Chromebooks they were issued for the 2018-19 school year by June 7, 2019. 
      
    Students may return their Chromebooks to the library staff during summer hours 9:00 AM - 2:30 PM Monday through Thursday.  School offices are closed on Friday.  Students must have their Chromebook, blue protector case, black soft case, and the power adapter and cord (charger).  If a student does not have one of these or has damaged a component, the cost to replace or repair them is listed below:
        • screen $30
        • keyboard damage not under warranty $30
        • power adapter and cord $20
        • blue hard shell $10
        • black soft case $10
        • full damage to device $150

    WCHS SUMMER HOURS

    WCHS Office Hours during the summer are 9:00 AM - 2:30 PM Monday through Thursday.  Offices are closed on Fridays.  The regular entrance to WCHS is not assessible because of construction.  Please enter through the second side door of the fine arts building or the back door of B Building.

    COMMITMENT TO SAFETY

    We understand that the recent tragedy of a school shooting in Florida has led to a sense of unease among students, parents and the community. The Vicksburg Warren School District is committed to protecting the safety and welfare of all its students and staff and takes any safety threat seriously.

    Our Safety Resource Officers will continue to collaborate with local law enforcement including the Vicksburg Police Department and Warren County Sheriff’s Department to immediately and thoroughly investigate any threat. All credible threats will be addressed.

    VWSD continues to make the safety of our students, employees and visitors a top priority. Anyone who hears or knows about a potential threat or dangerous situation, should contact Officer Dewayne Sims, Chief of School Safety, at 601-415-7186.
