STAR Academy provides learning opportunities for those students that are two or more years behind in academics. Students that exhibit appropriate characteristics and are selected will have the opportunity to participate in learning processes that incorporate thinking, exploration, and projects while integrating the frameworks of educational standards.
A multi‐faceted process will be used to identify students selected to participate in the STAR Academy program. Students who are rising seventh and eighth graders may be selected by a teacher, parent, peer, self, or any other person having reason to believe that the student may be academically appropriate for this program.
